Road Cycling

Road cycling is the most wide spread form of cycling.  It includes recreational, racing and utility cycling and we can accommodate them all.  We border both Leduc County and Parkland County which allows us to promote many beautiful country rides leaving from Devon.

Perfect for the pros and perfect for you!

Canada's best elite cyclists raced in Devon at the Road National Cycling Championships in 2010. View their route.

September 2013 will see Devon and road racing on the international circuit when the Tour of Alberta, Canada's highest level race (UCI 2.1) brings the best cyclists in the WORLD to start Stage 2 of the race on September 5 in Bike Town AB!

Bring your bike and find out what cycling's best already know.  The road cycling routes you will find leaving from Devon are perfect for the recreational cyclist, but will also provide the racing community with incredible routes to race on.  Routes range from 10 km easy courses, to 100 km+ moderate to difficult circuits.  Each of the routes can accommodate all cycling levels.

Locally, the Devon Bicycle Association hosts a Thursday night road cycling ride.  We invite you to enjoy the ride in Bike Town Alberta.

Bike Town Alberta hosts several cycling events which have a road race component.

We encourage road cycling as a mode of transportation because you will see and observe so much more en route while cycling than you will in your car.  Many Edmonton cycling clubs host weekly Devon Loop rides from the city.
